Pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 were excited to revisit the Sky Sports studios recently to create their own recordings. Read Alex from Year 6′s recount of the day:
On the 9th of June 2014 we went to Sky Sports studios near Twickenham. After a half an hour bus journey we arrived, and we were still shocked by the size of the place, huge metal structures glistened in the sun.
We walked into a room to put our water bottles in and walked the Sky’s high tech studios. We walked up two flights of stairs and a short corridor, to an octagonal shaped room with four studios attached to its sides.
We were given a role each and put in four different groups and I was the editor. We were given studio 2 and inside we had to discuss the script that we would use in our report, which was about obesity and sport.
Finally after many discussions we finalised what we were going to say. The recordings went perfectly and we then had to apply them together well so there were not any gaps in the interview.
We then returned after a small talk, and we learnt that all sky employees get free Sky, and meeting celebrities is a daily occurrence. It is something that has inspired me and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. I would like to say thank you to the staff for organising and accompanying us all for the afternoon.
