Pupils and teachers enjoyed a lively assembly on Friday 7th February, led by our Digital Leaders, Pollyanna E, Freddie N, Heidi C and Ben H, in honour of E-Safety week. Safer Internet Day was celebrated globally on Tuesday 11th February with the theme: Together for a Better Internet.
The day is a great opportunity to spark a conversation about the safe and responsible use of technology, and to inspire young people to create a better internet for the future. In computing and PSHE lessons leading up to the assembly, the children looked at examples of different situations and worked through how best to approach these dilemmas. The assembly was a chance to test the children’s knowledge with a 'Kahoot! Quiz'. The children competed in house teams to see how quickly they could answer some quick-fire questions, using our touchscreen Chromebooks. It was noticeable how the children’s confidence has grown since last year.
The point that was reiterated throughout the whole week, and one we hope the children will remember in future scenarios, is that if there is anything they are not sure about, they should ask an adult. Thank you to parents for their continued support with delivering this important message at home as well.
