Year 6 Back to School - with Babies!

Year 6 are now in their third week back at school and this week they are joined by their Flour Babies! So that the year group can spend the last few weeks of the time at Weston Green together they are doing their learning in the hall; this is also enabling them to prepare for an exciting filmed version of their end of year production, “Oh what a knight!”. This week, as part of their Relationships Education, they have made and brought to school, Flour Babies. The Flour Baby project is based on the novel by Anne Fine, and helps the children to learn a little bit about the responsibilities of parenthood; they are required to take the Flour Baby everywhere with them, and keep a diary of their experiences. It’s a project Y6 always enjoys, and although we are having to do it slightly differently this year, the children are still enjoying their new responsibility. Luke said, “I really like having to look after my Flour Baby. It feels good to have something to be responsible for.”
