A lot of exciting learning has been going on in Lower Key Stage 2 this term. There have been rumoured sightings of Ancient Greek people walking around the school, Viking invasions and Egyptian mummifications!
Year 4 have also enjoyed some inspiring Science lessons, this term. During a recent Science lesson, pupils were each given a box of things that they would need to make a light bulb light up, They were given no instructions other than: "You will find everything you need to light up your bulb, in these boxes."
Year 4 worked collaboratively and demonstrated Weston Green's school values of curiosity and adaptability in abundance. Every child managed to light their bulb. They then took this knowledge of circuits and used their new skills successfully to make buzzers buzz and motors whir. They were able to predict whether or not a circuit was viable from studying a diagram and then went on to test the circuits to prove their original predictions. Year 4 also deepened their understanding of electricity and circuits by making their own switches.
