This week, Year 5 went on a quest of exploration and learning into central London to visit The Clink Prison Museum, to help develop their history knowledge for their topic on Crime and Punishment. Like all trips we plan for pupils, the intention was to inspire them to further their learning and thinking.
Whilst in London, Year 5 not only got the chance to see one of London’s original prisons and the repulsive conditions which inmates had to endure, but they were also stimulated by the fantastic views along the river, such as the Shard, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The trip certainly raised their knowledge of this topic and helped to foster a love of learning beyond the classroom.
