Posted on: 18 Sep 2015 by Weston Green School | Category: Key Stage 2, Sports, Year 6
At the end of last term, our Year 6 pupils decorated their own Planter Bike to mark the start of the Rugby World Cup 2015.
Weston Green pupils were selected to take part in the rugby inspired art project launched by Elmbridge Borough Council and took on the challenge of decorating a bicycle to represent Australia, as one of the competing countries.
Elmbridge Council will be displaying the decorated bikes at various points in the Borough.
Year 6 teacher, Camilla Earp, said: "Rugby fever has been gripping Weston Green School since last term so we are delighted to be working with Elmbridge Council to celebrate the start of the World Cup. Year 6 worked hard to decorate their bike with an Australian flavour that we hope will make people smile as they drive past. Initiatives such as this provide a fantastic extension to our varied curriculum and are a rewarding way for our pupils to be involved in their local community. As so many of the matches will be happening 'down the road' in Twickenham, we cannot wait for the World Cup to start and wish all the participating countries the best of luck!"
