Year 6 take on new roles

Year 6 take on new roles

Since term began, Year 6 have been eagerly awaiting news of the allocation of important roles and responsibilities for this academic year. The process began at the start of term when they wrote formal letters of application to Mrs. Evans. The letters were of a very high quality and Mrs. Evans was impressed with their passion and commitment to serve their school in their final year.

Many applied for established positions such as House and Sports Captains, whilst some suggested new roles such as a Games Mentor to support and encourage the younger pupils. After careful consideration and consultation with the Upper Key Stage 2 staff, Mrs. Evans was able to announce the roles and everyone was thrilled to receive at least one important job.

Badges have been awarded in assembly, and are now to be seen being proudly worn on the children's blazers. Year 6 have begun to carry out their roles too, and are bringing new ideas and enthusiasm to different areas of the school - such as in the Library, on the Games field, and in the Music Department. Year 6 also very much enjoyed showing prospective families around at our Open Morning this week, and explaining what life is like at Weston Green School.
