Although there were only 6 pupils in year 6 today (as so many children were out sitting 11+ exams) those present were dealing with some huge numbers. Mrs Hawkins set them some tough challenges: to find out how far 1 million people standing shoulder to shoulder would stretch, and the weight of 1 million dried beans! The children used their place value knowledge, weighing and measuring to answer the questions, and soon found that they didn't need 1 million people or 1 million beans to have a good idea of the answer!
