We have seen a real spark this half term as Year 2 have been discovering about electricity. Science has given the Year 2 children at Weston Green School a real chance to investigate. They have been tackling challenges from understanding where electricity comes from to identifying the dangers of electricity in the home. A few bulbs were seen to go on as the children investigated what electrical items used mains power, what items used battery power and what items used both. They also had the chance to turn on real light bulbs by making their own electrical circuits and investigating what happens to a bulb if different elements of a circuit are changed. We think that there may be a few electrical engineers of the future in our current crop of Year 2 children.
