There has been much excitement in year 1 over the last week as we are starting to get ready for Christmas. The children had a very mysterious letter waiting for them on Tuesday morning and they were thrilled to find out that not only was it from Father Christmas, but that he had also hidden a present for them in the library. The children enjoyed listening to the story that he left them and this has been the basis for a lot of creative writing over the week. Year 1 also had the responsibility of decorating the school Christmas tree. This news delighted all the children and they took on the task with great energy and enthusiasm. It has been a fun week of Christmas arts and crafts with everyone enjoying the Nativity rehearsals too. What a busy year group they are!
