During this afternoon's activities session Mr Bashford's outdoor activities group had some help from Mrs Hawkins as they planted seed potatoes in sacks. Whilst they were digging for soil to cover the potatoes they spotted a small chestnut tree growing amongst the daffodils. After carefully digging up the seedling tree Mrs Hawkins showed the amazed children the conker which was still attached at the bottom. As we know that babies grow quickly - even if they are trees - it was decided to move the little tree to a pot whilst we work out what to do with it. Let's hope our seed potatoes make such good progress over the coming weeks - we will watch them keenly!
