Year 5 have made amazing progress in their understanding and practice of fine art so far this year. They have been looking into the life and works of Japanese painter and printer, Hokusai, and his famous print, The Great Wave. The children have put in a huge amount of effort and enjoyed trying new sketching and painting techniques, and using a variety of media to explore the different ways they can express a common theme. When split into groups they showed outstanding enthusiasm, team-work, and attention to detail in order to create an interpretation of The Great Wave, and they are tremendously proud of their masterpieces!
