This week Reception have teamed up in small groups to design and create storyboxes in response to the story, Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus, by Tony Mitton. A storybox is a minature setting, a shoebox size stage with a background and objects within it relating to the book. These encourage children to use their imagination, speak about their ideas and practise literacy skills. The Reception classes were absolutely inspired by the project and had to work as a team in order to achieve their collective goals. As you well know, team work can sometimes present challenges at any age, however the children cooperated and persevered until they were satisfied with the end result. Due to their enthusiasm we have included a photo of each house team with their photobox.
