To round off a vibrant couple of weeks of creative writing and book reading, year 6 entertained the school with their assembly all about the pleasure of….. reading! As they stood on the stage ready to begin, they were amazed at the sight before them: all the school had dressed up as their favourite books characters and it was as if a treasure chest of the world’s best children books had been opened up for the morning.
The focus for their assembly was to gently remind people that although there are some wonderful films to enjoy, many were originally based on books and although a film can be visually engaging, a book allows you to use your own imagination. The year 6s delivered their lines with clarity, and performed with humour and gusto before finishing off with a message to never give up on your dreams.
Well done year 6, Mrs Earp was very proud of you all!
