Miss Joanna Moore from Epsom College kindly visited us to deliver a fantastic monoprinting workshop in the Art Room on Friday 13th. The children were extremely excited about spending the morning learning how to print and have made some amazing work in the process. Using safety glass as the flat, smooth surface to apply the printing inks, the pupils tested their strength and resilience in rolling out sticky ink colours as flat as possible to cover the glass evenly before beginning to design their underwater scene. Each child's scene mixed imagination and inspiration, as the table was covered in rubber sea creatures, fish tank ornaments, plants and an excellent example print made by Joanna.
We are so grateful for Joanna's time and effort and I believe all the pupils involved in the workshop were ecstatic with the prints they produced.
The photos in the Gallery show the pupils in the workshop. More photos of the art work will be posted once they're dry so please do check back next week to see the finished pieces!
