For those of us lucky enough to have spent the Christmas holidays eating too many mince pieces and spending time seeing family and friends, poor year 6 had to spend a lot of their time revising for their 11+ examinations. As this newsletter goes to press they are happy to report that there are now no more exams to complete….just the results to wait for.
In order to alleviate some pressure between examinations, they paid a visit to year 1 where they displayed their burgeoning storytelling skills. Year 1 really enjoyed having the older children read stories to them - almost as much as the older children enjoyed spending time with them. The 11+ comprehension practice was surprisingly useful in other ways as year 6 could be heard asking the year 1s lots of comprehension style questions about the text: year 1 gave some excellent answers!
