Reception is learning county dance.
The Reception classes are looking forward to their upcoming trip to Bocketts farm this term.
Children have been learning some basic steps of country dance so that we can put them together and create a Barn Dance of our own. To warm up our bodies we moved across the floor as various animals, thinking about speed, levels and which pathways we had to travel in so that we didn’t bump into to each other. We learned to gallop across the floor with a partner and worked in small groups to turn in a right hand and left hand star. Although many dances are completed in a circle, we also started to work in two long lines which is called a long way set.
