Reception children have been preparing for the long walk across the playground to ‘the BIG school!’ In circle time children have been discussing with their peers what they would like to learn or take part in when they progress to Year1.
Some quotes from the children:
Maddie: “I want to learn to be better at things so I can get Barnaby bear for the weekend to take home.”
Charlie: “I want to learn about music and learn to play the guitar.”
Ophelia: “I want to go on a beach trip.”
Alice: “I want to learn about art to make lots of very clever art work like artists.”
Georgie: “I want to learn more about reading and writing.”
Aoife: “I want to learn about builders because they are building a utility room at home.”
Reception children teamed up with a buddy from Year 1 and read one of their favourite books to each other and also had the opportunity to asked questions about life in Year 1.
The highlight of the day was playing football with their Year 1 buddies and sharing their climbing frame with them!
