On Tuesday, 10th March Reception visited Bockett’s Farm and were blessed with glorious sunshine! The day was packed with lots of exciting activities and the children were given many facts about the animals on the farm. First, we saw a goat being milked, then we had the opportunity to stroke a number of various small animals including rabbits, Polish chicks and guinea pigs. We were then taken on a tractor-trailer ride around the farm and saw many animals in the fields. On our return we went to the enclosures where we saw animals including pigs, cows, sheep, horses and goats. We were fortunate enough to see the first lambs of the spring season and also a two-day old calf. After a picnic lunch the children had great fun playing in the soft play area in one of the barn conversions. The highlight of the day was watching the pig race and cheering the six pigs as they crossed the finish line!
