Rhema partnership update

Sherry Secker, Director of the Rhema Partnership, visited us on Friday 4th March and talked to all pupils from Reception upwards during assembly about her recent trip to the Rhema Garden in India.

She told us about the importance of the feeding programme they run, which is an after school club that children can attend where they are given a meal, can play and do their homework in a secure environment, rather than be out on the streets.

Sherry also showed us photos of children receiving bags containing the stationery which WGS parents and pupils very kindly donated back in October. In addition to the stationery, Sherry took some old stock WGS polo shirts out to India with her, where they were given to children at the disabled school which is one of the projects run by the Rhema Partnership.

We also saw recent photos of the two children whose education is sponsored by WGS – Deepa, who has nearly completed her schooling, and Isaac.

It is lovely to have a close link with the charity, which is based in Molesey, and to hear regular news of how the money we raise is used, how our sponsored children are getting on, as well as seeing photos of the clothing and stationery we sent being appreciated on the other side of the world.
