Christmas is a time for giving and so it is fitting that this week the School Council sent off seven boxes of maths text books to the charity Books2Africa. This charity collects and distributes books and educational materials to equip libraries within classrooms, institutions and communities across Africa.
The Years 5 and 6 school councillors had to work hard to get the books ready to collect. As boxes could weigh no more than 22kg they had to work out how many books that would be (by weighing 5 and doing some clever maths). Then they packed the boxes, taped them up and labelled them ready for collection. Finally Ashani and Jake helped load up the collection van, and now the books are on their way to Africa.
