Last Friday Weston Green U11 Netball team set off on their first ISA Tournament. The girls had been training hard since the beginning of the year, spending their Monday evenings working together, jelling as a team and mastering their own set positions. They were ready. With the sun shining and a large crowd of WGS parents cheering them on, the girls were excited to get going, opening their campaign with a narrow 1-0 loss. They played well and knew they could improve going forward. The afternoon continued with very close games for the girls coming up against tough competition. To say they did themselves proud would be an understatement. The girls not only gave 100% to every game they played in, they supported one another continuously throughout the afternoon and never let the smiles fall from their faces, especially when they managed to draw with one of the best teams in the competition. While the girls were not victorious this time, they played a high standard of netball and it was wonderful to see Weston Green being represented for the first time at an ISA netball event. Very well done to all of the year 6 girls as well as Connie and Lily for an outstanding performance on the day.
