Key Stage 2 were incredibly lucky to welcome a group of Shakespearean players to the hall last week. The group came in to teach the children about the often complex plot of Shakespeare’s comedy, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Rather than just perform the play for the children, the company invited many of them to become the actors themselves and were invited to participate in some of the most famous scenes.
The morning was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to both experience live theatre and tackle some of the challenging Shakespeare vocabulary. For Year 6, the visit was particularly poignant as they will be studying the play next term.
