On Friday morning, Mrs Smit captivated the children in assembly with her telling of a story about team work. After the story, a further treat was in store for the children – a visit from the Tiffinians close harmony singing group. This group of 7 boys (all aged 15-17) all go to Tiffin boys’ school and run this amazing acapella singing group themselves – arranging the music, rehearsal and performances without the help of a teacher.
Singing in four part harmony they entranced the children with a variety of arrangements – including the Beach Boys’ “I get around” (thoroughly enjoyed by the teachers particularly) and “Postman Pat” (enjoyed by everyone!).
The boys then kindly stayed to answer lots of questions from KS2 who went away with the definite impression that it’s cool to sing. To see a video of the Tiffinians singing “Postman Pat” click here.
