Over the past couple weeks Year 3 have been trying to get their heads round the new sport - hockey. Whilst the children are still getting to grips with the sport, the enthusiasm has been excellent and the children have enjoyed the sessions. This is the first time that Year 3 have been given the opportunity to learn hockey off site and they are really appreciating the facilities.
Whilst the children are carefully learning the ropes, they are working on their dribbling, close control and stance which will be helpful as they progress up the school.
If the children are asking for more, there is always Surbiton Hockey Club or Old Cranleighans who both have established colts sections which they can join. It should be an interesting term ahead with fixtures coming thick and fast after in the new year.
