Well done to all the amazing finalists who participated in this year’s Poetry Competition and showed what a talented group of performers we have at the school. The theme this year tied in very neatly with our learner profiles and the audience was entertained by a range of poems based upon ‘Woodland animals’. All the children from Reception to Year 6 had to learn a poem and it was incredibly hard for all the judges to pick just three finalists. However, a decision had to be made….
On the day, the hall was filled with nervous anticipation and excitement as the finalists performed their poems for the last time. Our guest judge, Annie Thackray, Headteacher of St Christopher’s School had the unenviable task of picking winners from each year group and an overall winner from KS1 and KS2. In the end the winners were Anna (2W) for KS1 and Anaya (5H) for KS2– well done everybody!
