Today in Year 2 we have been focusing on the topic of ‘The Great Fire of London’. It was wonderful to see the children arrive at school dressed up as iconic people from the past in 1666. They started the day by recreating a scene from a bakery and made bread with the school chef. It was very exciting! They then moved onto singing songs and playing instruments to ‘London’s Burning’ and spent the rest of the morning learning about the people and main events of the fire during this time. The children also had the chance to produce some fiery and colourful silhouette fire pictures. They then had the opportunity to design and make their very own three dimensional monument commemorating The Great Fire of London. They have thoroughly enjoyed the day are very much looking forward to their history lessons! We hope you view our photos in the gallery!
