Year 3 visit Haslemere museum

To complete what had already been a busy week, Year 3 went on a trip to the Haslemere Museum. Where they arrived the children were introduced to the museum’s toy mummy before setting to work taking the organs out and placing them in canopic jars - an exciting activity for all. Once the body had been mummified, the children were given several activities in different groups. This included looking at x-rays of the museum’s real mummy, going on a tour of the museum, and decrypting some hieroglyphics. Fin said that his favourite part was when he got to see the mummy.

After lunch, the children got to mummify the teddy bears they had brought with them. Connie said that this was the best trip ever and that she loved being able to mummify her teddy. It was a great trip and one that I know the children will remember.
