It's still early in the new school year but year 5 has already had the chance to explore Hampton Court Palace. This trip was to further their knowledge and understanding of their history topic ‘Tudor Explorers’. The children were greeted by a 'Tudor' lady who took them on a tour of the palace and show them all the different materials and artefacts that were brought to the country thanks to the brave Tudor explorers of the time.
Later in the day the children had a chance to explore the rest of the palace grounds including the gardens and the kitchens (where they saw a leg of beef being roasted on a spit). This was an excellent day out of the classroom with children asking sensible questions and making the most of this exciting learning opportunity.
