Year 5 spent today at Epsom College where they took part in two computing workshops. Both workshops gave them lots of experience in coding (something they have already been introduced to at WGS), and they got to programme both the BBC's Microbit computer, and the Raspberry Pi. It was wonderful to see how quickly engaged the children were, and how competently they picked up new skills so that by the end of the day they had been able to programme devices to play tunes, create a message in flashing lights and send messages to others.
