Parents Association

All parents are members of the Parents Association which is run by the parents. A committee is formed annually and alongside chairing these meetings, the Chairperson meets regularly with the Head Teacher.

The PA organises events to enable parents to socialise, both at family activities, such as the Christmas and Summer Fayres, and at evening events such as the annual School Ball.

Alongside the social aspect, the events organized by PA raise money for extras at the school which will enhance the children’s time at WGS. Alongside this in recent years a large sum of money raised by the Auctions at the School Ball has been donated to Breast Cancer Research. The Parents Association provide, for example, presents from Father Christmas and refreshments for the children on Sports Day.  The committee members also arrange the catering for events such as the two annual Open Mornings. Extra facilities for the school may also be funded following specific requests from the teachers, for example most speaking and listening equipment for the preschool children and a wide variety of interesting musical instruments for the main school.

The PA committee forms a very important and valued link between the school and the parents and its role evolves to meet the changing needs of the children at Weston Green School.
