The Admissions Process

It is our aim that our Admissions Process provides prospective families with all the information they need exactly when they need it.

Throughout the process, our Head of Admissions, Mrs Rachel Ranger, is always on hand to answer ad-hoc questions, discuss logistics or simply chat about the charming local area – she is exceptionally knowledgeable on all counts!

Visit

All prospective families are invited to visit us, either at an open morning, virtual open event or individual meeting and tour with our Head. During your visit, we hope that you get a feel for the culture and ethos at Weston Green School, alongside a sense of our ambition and dedication to providing the best possible education to our pupils.

Secure a place

To reserve a place for your child, you first need to register. Registration forms can be obtained from Mrs Ranger in the Admissions Office and must be completed and returned alongside the non-refundable £100 registration fee. Registration places your child on our entry lists (or waiting list in the event that there is no available space at the desired entry point) and allows you to relax in the knowledge that a place is waiting for your child.

Taster Days

Registered pupils are invited to a taster day (or multiple days, where it is felt this would be beneficial for either the child or the school), where they can enjoy a real day of learning, friendship, and discovery. During this taster day.

In circumstances where pupils are unable to visit the school (e.g. Due to living abroad) we invite them to have virtual meetings with staff and pupils to help them feel confident ahead of joining the school.

We are proud to be a school where ambition, curiosity, and kindness are not just words but part of daily life and we expect all incoming families to align with these values. We set high expectations for every child and support them to grow with confidence and care. Whether they are just starting their journey or preparing for the next step, Weston Green provides the challenge, encouragement, and inspiration they need to flourish.

Offer and Acceptance

Following the taster day(s) the school will initiate the final phase of the admission process, with a formal offer letter. Upon acceptance of the offer (and submission of all paperwork and required deposits) the place will be secured and the on-boarding process will begin.

Settling in

Pupils due to join Reception in September are invited to a series of settling-in sessions and events. These progress from sessions with their parent(s) to short sessions that they attend with their peers, to help them feel comfortable and secure in the school environment.

Children joining other year groups in September are invited to our annual moving up morning in June/July and we are always very happy to arrange additional taster days if desired.

Pupils joining the school mid-year or even mid-term are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. We happily facilitate taster/settling-in sessions to suit each family and their circumstance.
