Day Trips, Workshops, and Local Engagement
Pupils at Weston Green School enjoy a variety of educational and engaging day trips. These visits bring subjects to life. For example, a trip to Hampton Court Palace allows pupils to explore history in an immersive setting. Food technology is explored during a visit to a restaurant like Pizza Express. Children learn about ingredients and the process of making food, which makes the learning experience fun and practical.
We also enrich the curriculum with workshops and visiting speakers. These sessions provide pupils with specialist knowledge and unique perspectives. For instance, our popular Evacuees Day gives pupils a first-hand look at life during World War Two. This interactive day provides a memorable and empathetic insight into history.
Our pupils also engage with the local community. Singing for residents in a local care home is a wonderful example. This helps children develop empathy and a sense of social responsibility.
Residential Trips and Skiing Adventures
We believe in the importance of residential trips for building character. Pupils in years three to six take part in residential trips each year. These trips help children develop independence and learn teamwork skills. They also provide a fantastic chance to bond with friends and teachers.
For our older pupils, we offer an optional ski trip. This adventure is an exciting opportunity for children to learn a new skill. It is a challenging and rewarding experience that they will remember for a lifetime.
