Every day at Little Prep is a new adventure. Our carefully structured routine gives children the freedom to explore with confidence while providing the consistency they need to feel safe, settled and ready to learn.
From the moment they arrive, children are welcomed into a calm and purposeful environment where curiosity leads and kindness is lived.
Each morning begins with a warm greeting and time to settle into play. Our smooth and supportive drop-off allows children to transition happily from home to school, ready to begin their day with confidence. Families are invited to share any updates so that each child’s experience is connected, thoughtful and personal.
The day begins with carpet time where children gather for songs, storytelling and shared learning. This sets the tone for the day and brings the group together.
Small group sessions then follow, led by our experienced educators. Children explore phonics, maths games, early writing and mark-making activities tailored to their stage of development. Each child is supported and stretched in the way that suits them best.
A rolling snack and mindfulness moment gives children time to recharge, reflect and continue learning in a calm and connected way.
After a nourishing hot lunch served in the dining hall, the afternoon opens up to child-led discovery. Children explore outdoors, take part in themed play, or enjoy specialist sessions in sport, French, music and Movement and Mindfulness.
Whether building with blocks, painting, exploring water or playing collaboratively, this is a time where curiosity leads and relationships deepen.
Rest is an important part of the day. For those who nap, we offer peaceful, comfortable sleep spaces with soft lighting and calm music. For others, there are quiet corners to read, relax or take part in gentle activities. This time supports wellbeing and ensures children have the energy to engage fully in the rest of the day.
The day ends with storytime and reflection, helping children process their experiences and feel proud of what they have achieved. Our pick-up routine is calm and welcoming, with optional extended care and enrichment available for those who stay a little longer.
