Year 3 set off for their long-awaited residential trip to Henley Fort on Tuesday 20th September. After the children’s first challenge of making their beds, they enjoyed two action-packed days of activities, full of fun and team spirit. Challenge courses tested the children’s resilience, teamwork and concentration, whilst activities like archery and rock climbing pushed them out of their comfort zones and enabled them to set and beat personal bests.
Staff were incredibly proud of the individual achievements that were made by the children. They braved their fears and tackled their nerves, which were soon overtaken with feelings of pride and excitement at accomplishing something they had never done before. Busy days were concluded with a breathtaking evening walk, a cosy campfire and a mug of hot chocolate, before snuggling into the yurts for a good night’s sleep. Year 3 loved their time away and have shown just how aspirational, respectful and gracious they are.
