Year 2 were transported back in time to 1666 to learn all about The Great Fire of London. The children took part in a range of activities as they recreated life in Pudding Lane. The workshop really helped to embed and contextualise their learning. They were given opportunities to become the fire as it grew and spread, to meet Samuel Pepys and to debate the rebuilding of the city. The workshop enabled the children to compare life on Pudding Lane beforehand, explore causes of the fire and discuss its aftermath and why it was such a significant event in history.
What a fantastic way to enhance our learning!
