Weston Green School celebrated a remarkable achievement at the 5-a-side Football Festival hosted by Hampton School on Saturday, September 16, 2023. The school was one of the four Year 6 winners out of 60 teams from 26 schools that participated in the event.
The festival was a great opportunity for the children to showcase their talents and enjoy playing football in a competitive and friendly environment. Despite the scorching heat, the children displayed excellent skills, teamwork and resilience throughout the matches. They also showed respect and sportsmanship to their opponents and referees.
The parents were full of praise for their children and the coaches. One parent said, “We are very proud of our children and how they represented Weston Green School. They played with confidence and joy, and we could see how much they loved the game. We would like to thank the coaches, Mr Morgan and Mr Sheridan, for their dedication and guidance, especially Mr Morgan who managed to attend the festival during his paternity leave.”
A huge congratulations to all the footballers and their coaches for their fantastic performance, and thanks to all the parents and supporters for their encouragement and cheering. We look forward to more exciting matches in the future!
