National Portrait Gallery inspires Year 4

Posted: 6th December 2023

Exploring National Portrait Gallery

Today was an enriching journey for Year 4 children from Diamond and Garnet Class as they explored the National Portrait Gallery.

Enhancing Tudor learnings

Immersed in the Tudor theme of the term, they delved into the intricacies of Tudor artwork, dissecting key portraits during an engaging workshop. The young minds dissected elements such as pose, expression, background, object, and clothing, drawing inspiration from poignant Tudor paintings. The experience not only fostered artistic exploration but also deepened their connection to history, making learning a vivid and memorable adventure.

What a wonderful way to wrap up our Tudor topic!
