Residential Trip to Thames Young Mariners for Y4

Posted: 16th September 2024

An Enriching Outdoor Adventure

Last week, Year 4 went on an exciting residential trip to Thames Young Mariners, where they fully embraced the outdoors and our core school values of collaboration, resilience, and curiosity. Over the course of the week, the children took part in a variety of adventurous activities designed to challenge and engage them, including kayaking, sailing, raft building, climbing, and archery. These hands-on experiences not only allowed the children to develop new skills but also helped them foster a love for outdoor learning.

In addition to the water and land-based activities, the children enjoyed some traditional camp fun, like toasting marshmallows around the campfire. This gave them a chance to bond with their peers and teachers in a relaxed environment, reinforcing the importance of teamwork and friendship.

Building Skills and Bonds

Throughout the trip, the children demonstrated great enthusiasm, resilience, and cooperation as they worked together in groups. The trip provided an excellent opportunity for them to practice their problem-solving and communication skills in real-world scenarios.

Personal Growth and Teamwork

We are extremely proud of all the children for their positive attitudes and the personal growth they showed during the trip. A huge thank you to Thames Young Mariners for providing such a memorable experience that will stay with them for years to come.
