All pupils in EYFS have weekly dance and games lessons, both led by specialist teachers. Dance and movement is an essential part of Early Years education. The dance sessions help children to express themselves creatively, developing their imagination and providing opportunities for important physical exploration as well as a sense of rhythm.
During weekly games sessions, the focus is on ball skills, catching, throwing and dribbling with a ball, progressing to games where they apply their skills in co-operation as a team. Various forms of equipment are used to develop their gross motor skills during these lessons.
