Experiences and trips play an important part in pupils’ development as they progress through the school.
In Key Stage 2, trips have included:
In addition, pupils in Years 5 and 6 enjoy residential trips during the Summer term. The experience of being away on a residential trip provided the pupils with opportunities to build their confidence, learn new skills and learn to take responsibility for themselves and each other, which are important for their development in getting ready to move onto their next schools. A range of extra-curricular after school clubs are also offered to all pupils in Key Stage 2.
Pupils in Key Stage 2 can also take part in the school's own 'Weston Green Endeavour Awards’, helping to celebrate the children's many achievements and their personal development outside of school.
The aim is for the children to complete a range of tasks that complement their extra-curricular work, starting on Bronze level and moving through three levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold) to achieve Gold, before leaving in Year 6.
To achieve each level, the children need to complete four of the following five categories:
