Easter Activities at Home

  • Yoga

Cosmic Kids Yoga offers fun yoga adventures and mindfulness exercises designed for young children. This is a positive way to spend some screen time and is a great way for children to burn some energy.

  • Home energy audit

This is an engaging way to teach older children about energy and empower them to make changes in the home. It is also a project that can be ongoing.

  1. Explore your home and jot down the various ways you use energy. This might include activities like turning on lights, heating the house, cooking meals, or charging devices

  2. Think of ways your household can use energy more efficiently. There are some handy tips and ideas you can consider here.

  3. Next, write down your energy saving plan on this activity sheet.

  4. You could even take gas and electricity metre readings and set yourself a challenge to reduce the usage in your home.

  • Cooking at home

Whether it’s baking scones, making homemade pizza, or helping to prepare a simple meal, involving children in the kitchen can be a fun and educational experience. They can learn about different ingredients, measurements, and cooking techniques while also developing their fine motor skills. Recipes also help their reading and comprehension skills.

You can browse some child friendly recipes here.

  • Butterfly Sponge Printing

Creating butterfly prints with sponges is a simple and fun way to channel their creativity and produce some colourful art whilst also learning about symmetry. Watch this tutorial to see the easy process.

1. Place an elastic band in the centre of your sponge to create the wings.

2. Squeeze paint onto one side of the sponge

3. Fold the sponge in half to transfer the paint evenly on both sides.

4. Unfold the sponge and press it firmly onto paper to create the print.

5. Remove the sponge to unveil your print. After it dries, use a pen to add a body and antennae.
